Singapore won its first Olympic medal since independence in Women's Table Tennis team event, 48 years after its first medal also a silver by Tan Howe Liang in the 1960 Summer Olympics, on 17 August 2008.As a young nation Singapore understands the important of young people. Singapore is a global sucess country that compiles of age, race and cultures.Singapore heavily invest in sports and also arts. Our education system is one of the best but we also play hard.

I think YOG is about Friendship and Respect to your opponent. In YOG , it is not only about winning the medals but to put in your best efforts and try your very best to win a medal. If not at least we know that we have give it our all.For example our Singapore's Table Tennis Team, even they do not get the gold medal, they manage to clinch bronze which i think is preety excellent as Singapore had their first medal for many years. They tried their best even though they are challenging China which had won millions of trophies from past olympics and recent olympics. As Singapore is a young country, we have yet to train more than other countries like China, United States Of America or even Africa. I believe that when we are train more and be prepared for the upcoming Olympic, we can clinch bronze , silver or even gold.

Personally, I am very honored that Singapore was chosen for it and feel very proud of Singapore for hosting this very exciting event. Singapore is going to host the first ever Youth Olympic Games (Summer) in 2010 and it is amazing that we have made it so far that we are recognized as a country capable of hosting such major events like these. Hopefully, Singapore can go further and qualify for more international competitions and that  Singapore has made history by hosting this exciting event and hopefully will do even better for the other events such as the World Cup or the Olympics. CME Lesson: Write up stories for Singapore Youth Olympic

Singapore had made history by hosting the Youth Olympic 2010 games.

We all know Singapore Youth Olympic values which are honest, discipline and respect. Singapore is cranking up the publicity for its bid to host the Youth Olympic Games in 2010.

With less than ten days left before the official bid document is submitted on 26 October, a website and logo were unveiled on Tuesday to rally the whole nation to support the bid. Singapore's national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim, is used for the official logo, which is accompanied with the tagline 'Blazing the Trail' to show the nation's entrepreneurial and can-do spirit.

There is a video on Youtube which promotes this event to reach out to other Singaporeans.
Singapore feels it may have an advantage over the nine other cities that are bidding for the Games.

The Youth Olympic Games will see some 3,500 athletes, from ages 14 to 18, competing in 26 sports events.

We are very very proud of Singapore to have the opportunity to host this amazing event.
